We are proud to say that our Mat Bandit Wrestling Program has traditionally been one of the best programs in the state of Minnesota. This is the place to advance the skills of a young and upcoming Coon Rapids Cardinal wrestler between the ages of k-8th grade. This program is designed to give the wrestler more individual attention to advance their skills and allow them to better understand the more competitive side of our sport. Expectations are a little higher here then in the CRAA program.

Optional tournaments are held every Sunday at different high schools throughout the metropolitan area. There are also a few team tournaments in which our club will participate in. This program is open only to those wrestlers who are in the CRHS attendance boundaries. Folkstyle wrestling is the same as high school wrestling for those new to our great sport.

The Folkstyle season begins the Monday after Thanksgiving with sign-ups on the lower level of CRHS in front of the wrestling room and runs through March. All members of the Mat Bandit club must have a USA Wrestling Card in order to be sanctioned to wrestle.
